The 50/50 chair is based on a simple principle. The use of a single material; 50/50 millimeter aluminum square profile, combined with a single production technique; the tube laser machine. By undergoing a minimal number of production processes, the chair remains clear in its communication. “It’s not about the chair.” It’s about what you see. The large profiles not only give the chair a structural character but also create an open structure, literally showing that it’s about the technology. Through the archetype design, the focus shifts from the form of the chair to its material and construction.
